A standard drink is equal to:
- 24 oz beer, 10 oz wine, 3 oz liquor
- 6 oz wine, 2 oz liquor, 8 oz beer
- 12 oz beer, 5 oz wine, or 1.5 oz liquor — correct answer
Why
One drink means 1.5 oz of 80-proof liquor, 12 oz of 5% beer, or 5 oz of 12% wine. They contain about the same alcohol, so 'just a beer' is not weaker. (Handbook, Section 9.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
