Hand-over-hand steering is the method to use when you:
- Drive on the freeway at a constant speed
- Turn at low speed, park, or recover from a skid — correct answer
- Need to keep both hands still on the wheel
Why
Hand-over-hand starts at 8 and 4 o'clock and is for low-speed turns, parking and skid recovery. (Section 5, Hand-Over-Hand Steering.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
