If you’re under 21 and caught with any open or unopened alcohol in your car without a guardian, your car:
- Will be towed permanently
- Will not be affected
- May be impounded for up to 30 days — correct answer
Why
Law enforcement can impound the vehicle for up to 30 days, on top of the fine and the one-year license suspension. (Handbook, Section 9 — Drivers Under 21.)
