What is one reason California requires a written exam for new drivers?
- To increase DMV revenue
- To reduce the number of new drivers
- To make sure drivers understand and follow traffic laws — correct answer
Why
The written test confirms you know the rules before you are licensed, rather than learning them by having a collision.
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
