What is the minimum age to apply for a California provisional instruction permit?
- 16 years old
- 18 years old
- 15½ years old — correct answer
Why
You can apply at 15½, with driver education completed and a parent or guardian's signature. (Handbook, Section 2.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
