Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
When you are being passed by another vehicle, you should:
- Speed up so the pass takes less time
- Move onto the shoulder to give room
- Stay in your lane and let the other driver complete the pass — correct answer
Why
Speeding up while being passed is what leaves the other driver stranded in the oncoming lane. (Section 6, Being Passed.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
