A bicyclist ahead holds their right arm straight out horizontally. What does it mean?
- They are asking you to pass
- They are turning right — correct answer
- They are turning left
Why
Bicyclists may signal a turn with the arm held straight out, pointing in the direction they plan to turn — including a right turn with the right arm. For drivers, a horizontal arm means a left turn. (Handbook, Section 5.)
Practise this in the real format
