Does law enforcement file the DMV collision report for you?
- No: each driver must file their own report — correct answer
- Yes, if the damage is over $1,000
- Yes, whenever officers attend the scene
Why
The handbook is explicit that law enforcement will not make the report for you, and failing to file suspends your driving privilege. (Section 10, Reporting a Collision.)
Practise this in the real format
