Hand-and-arm signals should be used when:
- Your signal lights are not working, or bright sunlight makes them hard to see — correct answer
- You are turning left from a two-way street
- You are driving in heavy rain
Why
Those are the two cases the handbook gives for using hand-and-arm signals instead of the lights. (Section 5, Signaling.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
