If a vehicle fire is under the hood, you should NOT:
- Use an automotive fire extinguisher if trained
- Call 911
- Try to extinguish it with water — correct answer
Why
Never use water on an engine fire — it can spread burning fuel and there is an electrical risk. Get everyone away and call 911.
