If your accelerator sticks, the safest first step is:
- Turn off the engine immediately
- Shift to neutral — correct answer
- Apply the brakes firmly
Why
Shift to neutral. That disconnects the engine from the wheels immediately, without losing power steering or brakes as switching off would.
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
