If the officer who arrives at your crash gives you a police report number, you should:
- Ignore it
- Ask how to obtain a copy of the report — correct answer
- Wait for the report to arrive by mail
Why
Note the number and ask how to get a copy — your insurer will want it, and it documents the scene independently.
Practise this in the real format
