Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
Passing a light rail vehicle or streetcar on its left side is allowed:
- Never, under any circumstances
- Whenever the light rail vehicle is standing still
- Only on a one-way street, where the tracks are too close to the right, or when an officer directs you — correct answer
Why
The rule is a prohibition with three exceptions: a one-way street, tracks so close to the right that you cannot pass on that side, or a traffic officer directing you. (Section 7, Buses, Streetcars, Trolleys.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
