Before exiting a highway you should signal:
- About five seconds, or roughly 400 feet, before the exit — correct answer
- Only once you are in the deceleration lane
- About 100 feet before the exit
Why
Five seconds — about 400 feet — in the proper lane, at a safe speed and without crossing solid lines. (Section 6, Exiting.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
