What does 'implied consent' mean for drivers in California?
- You agree to chemical testing if lawfully arrested for DUI — correct answer
- You can refuse all testing without penalty
- You must submit to a driving test yearly
Why
Driving in California is itself consent to breath, blood or urine testing if an officer suspects DUI. Withdrawing that consent costs you your license. (Handbook, Section 9 — DUI Arrests.)
