A 16-year-old is convicted of riding a bicycle under the influence. The consequence is:
- Nothing, because a bicycle is not a motor vehicle
- A fine payable when they apply for a license
- Their driving privilege may be suspended or delayed for one year once they are eligible to drive — correct answer
Why
Between 13 and 20 years old, a conviction for operating a bicycle under the influence can suspend or delay the driving privilege for a year. (Section 9, Alcohol and Drugs.)
