Topic 2 · Requirements and Process
When applying for a California driver’s license, your full legal name must be shown if:
- You have a nickname
- Your name has changed — correct answer
- You have a middle name
Why
If your name has changed you must show the legal document proving it, so the license matches your identity records.
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
