Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
When entering a highway from an on-ramp:
- Highway traffic has the right-of-way, and you merge at or near its speed — correct answer
- You should stop at the end of the ramp and wait for a gap
- You have the right-of-way while on the ramp
Why
Be in the proper lane, at or near the speed of traffic, and merge when safe. Do not stop unless it is absolutely necessary. (Section 6, Merging.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
