When following a cyclist on the road, you should:
- Pass them closely to encourage them to move aside
- Give them extra space and never tailgate — correct answer
- Honk repeatedly to warn them
Why
Give a cyclist plenty of room and never tailgate. They may need to swerve suddenly for a pothole, a drain or an opening door.
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
