When is a driving test NOT required for a license?
- If you are over age 21
- Never; all first-time applicants must pass a behind-the-wheel test — correct answer
- If you pass the written test
Why
Applying for an original California license means passing the behind-the-wheel test. Renewals normally do not require it unless a vision or medical condition applies. (Handbook, Section 3.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
