A California resident without U.S. citizenship can get a license by:
- Showing a U.S. passport only
- Providing alternate proofs of identity and residency for an AB 60 license — correct answer
- Skipping the written test
Why
California issues licenses to all residents regardless of immigration status, using alternative proofs of identity and residency. (Handbook, Section 1.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
