When you sell a vehicle, you must notify the DMV within:
- Thirty days, when the buyer registers it
- Ten days, with the transfer of title
- Five days, with a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability — correct answer
Why
The Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability is what protects you from what the buyer does with the vehicle. (Section 11.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
