When your tire blows out while driving, you should:
- Hold the steering wheel firmly and let the car slow — correct answer
- Swerve quickly to the shoulder
- Brake hard immediately
Why
Hold the wheel firmly and let the vehicle slow on its own. Braking hard on a blown tire pulls the car sharply toward that side.
