Topic 8 · Emergencies and Unforeseen Situations
What should you do after receiving a citation from an officer?
- Refuse to sign it
- Pay the officer on the spot
- Sign it as a promise to appear or handle the ticket — correct answer
Why
Sign it. Signing is a promise to appear, not an admission of guilt, and refusing only escalates the stop.
