Topic 7 · Insurance and Financial Responsibility
You hit and injure an animal on the road. You should:
- Call the nearest humane society or law enforcement, and not move the animal — correct answer
- Continue driving if the animal is not a pet
- Move it to the shoulder so traffic is not blocked
Why
The handbook says to call the nearest humane society or law enforcement and not to try to move an injured animal. (Section 10, What to Do if You Are in a Collision.)
