The foot brake passes the pre-drive check if, when depressed, there is:
- At least three inches of clearance
- At least one inch of clearance between the pedal and the floorboard — correct answer
- Any clearance at all
Why
Less than an inch of clearance suggests the brakes need attention, and the examiner will not start the test. (Section 3.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
