California law prohibits the use of handheld cell phones while driving:
- For all drivers — correct answer
- Except for those over 18
- Except when stopped at a red light
Why
The handheld ban applies to every driver, at any age. Adults may use a phone hands-free; drivers under 18 may not use one at all except to call for emergency help.
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
