During a dust storm with zero visibility, you should:
- Keep headlights and taillights on
- Continue at a reduced speed
- Pull off the road, turn off all lights, and wait — correct answer
Why
Pull completely off the pavement, take your foot off the brake and turn off all lights. Any light showing invites the driver behind to follow it straight into you. NOTE: the handbook has no dust-storm procedure; for dust that merely reduces visibility while you are still driving, it requires you to turn your low beams ON (Section 5).
