If caught in heavy fog while driving, the best action is:
- Turn on high beams and speed up
- Pull off the road completely and wait — correct answer
- Stop in your lane with hazard lights
Why
If it is too thick to drive safely, pull off the road, put on the emergency flashers and wait it out. (Handbook, Section 8 — Fog or Heavy Smoke.)
