Straight line backing is done by:
- Steering only with the mirrors
- Turning the wheel to correct constantly
- Looking over your right shoulder through the rear window while backing slowly — correct answer
Why
You look back through the rear window rather than relying on mirrors, and you go slowly. (Section 6, Straight Line Backing.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
