Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
On an open highway with two or more lanes in your direction, the left lane is intended for:
- Passing and faster traffic — correct answer
- Vehicles preparing to exit
- Trucks and towing vehicles
Why
Passing lanes exist so faster traffic can overtake; slower traffic keeps right. (Section 6, Passing Lanes.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
