What is the DMV vision screening standard for a driver's license?
- 20/20 in both eyes, without corrective lenses
- 20/40 with both eyes together, and 20/40 in one eye with at least 20/70 in the other — correct answer
- 20/100 in your better eye is enough
Why
The DMV screens for 20/40 with both eyes together, and 20/40 in one eye with at least 20/70 in the other — with or without corrective lenses. If you pass wearing glasses or contacts, your license carries a corrective lenses restriction. (dmv.ca.gov, Vision Conditions.)
Practise this in the real format
