What should you do if you start to skid on snow or ice?
- Ease off the accelerator and steer gently in the direction of the skid — correct answer
- Accelerate to regain control
- Brake hard and turn sharply in the opposite direction
Why
Ease off the accelerator and steer gently where you want to go. Sudden inputs extend the skid rather than ending it.
