What will happen if your car fails the safety check before the driving test?
- The examiner will test you anyway
- You cannot take the test until the car is fixed — correct answer
- You will receive an automatic pass
Why
The test does not start until the vehicle passes. Working lights, horn, brakes, mirrors, wipers and an opening driver window are all checked. (Handbook, Section 3.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
