When driving in high winds, especially in an SUV or truck, you should:
- Drive as fast as possible to escape the wind
- Grip the wheel firmly and reduce speed — correct answer
- Let go of the wheel to avoid over-correcting
Why
A high-sided vehicle catches the wind like a sail. Hold the wheel firmly and reduce speed so a gust cannot move you out of your lane.
