Why should you avoid stopping in the middle of a crosswalk?
- It is only a problem when the crosswalk is marked
- It blocks the view of the traffic signal for other drivers
- It can force a blind pedestrian to walk around your vehicle into traffic — correct answer
Why
Stopping inside the crosswalk pushes a blind pedestrian outside it and into traffic. The handbook lists it among the specific things not to do around blind pedestrians. (Section 7, Pedestrians Who Are Blind.)
