A broken yellow line next to your lane means:
- You may pass when it is safe to do so — correct answer
- You may never pass on this road
- The road ahead becomes one-way
Why
A broken yellow line indicates passing is allowed if the broken line is next to your driving lane, and only when it is safe. (Section 6, Lane Markings.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
