Before changing lanes you should:
- Change first and signal once you are in the lane
- Signal, check your mirrors and look over your shoulder at the blind spot — correct answer
- Signal and rely on the mirrors alone
Why
Mirrors do not cover the blind spot: the shoulder check is what does. (Section 6, Changing Lanes.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
