A high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane with its entrance on the left:
- May only be used by buses
- May be entered from any point along the lane
- Is one of the cases where crossing double solid yellow lines is allowed — correct answer
Why
It is the first exception the handbook lists to the double solid yellow rule. (Section 6, Lane Markings.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
