Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
A school bus ahead is flashing red lights. When do you NOT have to stop?
- When you can see that all the children have already boarded
- When the bus is on the other side of a divided or multilane highway with two or more lanes in each direction — correct answer
- When you are travelling in the opposite direction
Why
You must stop from either direction while the red lights flash. The only exception is when the bus is on the other side of a divided or multilane highway (two or more lanes in each direction). (Handbook, Section 7.)
