How close to a marked or unmarked crosswalk may you park?
- You may park right up to the crosswalk line if the curb is not painted red
- No closer than 20 feet on the approach side — correct answer
- No closer than 10 feet
Why
You may not park within 20 feet of a marked or unmarked crosswalk. This is the 'daylighting' rule, and it applies even where the curb is unpainted and there is no sign. (Handbook, Section 6 — Illegal Parking.)
