Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
When parking uphill with a curb, you should:
- Turn wheels toward the curb
- Turn the front wheels away from the curb — correct answer
- Leave wheels straight
Why
Facing uphill, turn the front wheels away from the curb so the car rolls back into it if the brakes fail. Downhill, turn them toward the curb. (Handbook, Section 6.)
Practise this in the real format
