Parking on a sloping driveway, you should:
- Turn the wheels toward the street so it rolls clear
- Turn the wheels so the vehicle will not roll into the street, and set the parking brake — correct answer
- Leave the wheels straight and rely on the transmission
Why
Set the parking brake, leave it in park or in gear, and point the wheels so a roll would not take the car into the street. (Section 6, Parking on a Hill.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
