The Basic Speed Law says you may never drive:
- Faster than the vehicle in front of you
- Faster than is safe for the current road conditions — correct answer
- Faster than 65 mph anywhere in California
Why
Whatever the posted limit says, the Basic Speed Law makes conditions the ceiling. (Section 8, Manage Your Speed.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
