Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
To execute a legal U-turn, you should begin your turn from:
- Any lane
- The rightmost lane
- The far left lane or the center left-turn lane — correct answer
Why
Start a U-turn from the far-left lane or the center left-turn lane, never from a middle or right lane. Anything else cuts across traffic that has no reason to expect you.
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
