Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
When you complete a right turn you should:
- Use whichever lane is clearest
- End up in the left lane if you plan to turn left soon
- End up in the right lane, without turning wide into another lane — correct answer
Why
Turning wide into another lane is the error the handbook calls out: complete the turn in the right lane. (Section 6, Right Turns.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
