To prevent a skid on a slippery surface you should:
- Brake firmly before the curve and coast through it
- Slow down as you approach intersections and curves — correct answer
- Accelerate gently through the curve to keep grip
Why
Slow before intersections and curves, avoid fast turns and quick stops, shift to low gear before a steep hill and stay off ice patches, wet leaves, oil and standing water. (Section 8, Slippery Surface Skids.)
Practise this in the real format
