Topic 3 · Rules of the Road: Traffic Laws in California
When looking for a parallel parking space, you want one that is:
- At least ten feet longer than your vehicle
- Exactly the length of your vehicle
- At least three feet longer than your vehicle — correct answer
Why
Three feet longer is the space the handbook asks for, and you signal as soon as you find it. (Section 6, Parallel Parking.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
