California law requires headlights to be on:
- 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise and when visibility is under 1000 feet — correct answer
- At all times
- Only in rain
Why
Headlights are required from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise, and any time conditions such as fog, rain or smoke keep you from seeing 1,000 feet ahead. (Handbook, Section 5.)
Practise this in the real format
