If you cannot afford liability insurance, California offers:
- The California Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program — correct answer
- A one-year exemption from the insurance requirement
- A discount coupon issued by the DMV
Why
Drivers who cannot afford liability insurance may be eligible for the Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program (mylowcostauto.com). There is no exemption from being insured. (Section 10, Low-cost Insurance.)
